We've included all the domain transfer steps for most of the major web hosting companies in South Africa, it's often not an easy process as most of these companies are slow in response times especially Telkom.
The domain registrar registers the domain on behalf of the client the registrant and should honor the transfer request when the client wishes to move to another service.

See the list of companies and the requirements of their domain transfer process, some requests can take a few hours and others up to four weeks depending on the pressure from the client.
Unfortunately there is very little we can do to help speed up the process except send the domain transfer request to your old hosting provider.

If you would like to move from our service to any other services we'll gladly accept the transfer request after being notified by the email address you've had communication with us in the past. As soon as we receive the request we'll approve it immediately which could take as quick as a few minutes to a few hours provided that you are up to date with any outstanding payments.

  1. Clients can cancel their services with Afrihost by logging into their client zone.
  2. There is a thirty day domain transfer waiting period before a transfer request can be sent.

  1. Send a fax with your company letterhead and intentions signed by the domain owner.

  1. Phone Mweb to notify them of your domain transfer request and they'll send you a termination form.
  2. You need to answer the security questions before the form will be sent.
  3. Complete the form and send it to the contact details that are on the form.
  4. Once you have sent it make sure you follow it up with another phone call.

Telkom


Good luck with this one, it could be a long and painful process as support is very slow if there is no pressure or response from Telkom.
  1. Send an email or a fax with your company letterhead and intent to terminate the service.
  2. The domain owner is required to sign the termination letter
  3. Once you have sent it make sure you follow it up with a phone call.
