Windows 10 Email Setup
If you have the latest up to date version of Windows 10, click on the search in bottom left next to the start button and type in Mail to find the Mail App.
To set up a POP3 email account in Windows 10 Mail, follow these steps:
- Open the Windows 10 Mail app.
- Click the Settings icon in the bottom left corner of the window.
- Click Manage accounts.
- Click Add account.
- Click Advanced setup.
- Select Internet email.
- Enter the following information for your email account:
- Email address: Your full email address.
- User name: Your full email address.
- Password: Your email password.
- Incoming server: The incoming POP server for your email provider. This information can usually be found on your email provider's website.
- Port: The incoming POP port for your email provider. This information can usually be found on your email provider's website.
- Outgoing server: The outgoing SMTP server for your email provider. This information can usually be found on your email provider's website.
- Port: The outgoing SMTP port for your email provider. This information can usually be found on your email provider's website.
- Use the same username and password for sending email: Select this checkbox if you want to use the same username and password for both incoming and outgoing mail.
- Require SSL for incoming email: Select this checkbox if you want to use a secure connection for incoming mail.
- Require SSL for outgoing email: Select this checkbox if you want to use a secure connection for outgoing mail.
- Click Sign in.
If the information you entered is correct, your email account should be added to Windows 10 Mail. You can then start sending and receiving emails.
Here are some additional tips for setting up a POP3 email account in Windows 10 Mail:
- If you are having trouble connecting to your email server, make sure that your firewall is not blocking the ports that are used for POP3 and SMTP.
- If you are using a proxy server, you will need to enter the proxy server settings in Windows 10 Mail.
- If you are using a POP3 email account with multiple devices, you may want to consider using IMAP instead of POP3. IMAP allows you to keep your email in sync across all of your devices.
